Apples are one of the most popular fruits when it comes to baby food; it is ery easy to find in supermarkets all year long and has a sweet taste that babies like. Traditionally, applesauce is one of the first foods for babies. It can be served alone or combined with other flavors and textures, in this case, with papaya. Papaya is very sweet and juicy and has a mild flavor, making it perfect to combine with the apple.

Ingredients

  • 1 sweet apple (gala or pink lady)
  • 1/3 cup papaya, peeled and chopped

Directions

    Peel, chop and steam cook the apples for approximately 8 minutes. When they’re cooked, let cool a bit and run through a food processor. Process until creamy in texture.

    Process the uncooked papaya until it has the consistency of a puree, and mix with the apples. Serve immediately or freeze.

    Use double or triple the amount a freeze in an ice cube tray, just thaw for a few hours before use.
