Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 2 large oranges
  • 3 4-inch pieces of sugar cane
  • 25 tejocotes
  • 1 1/2 cups prunes (pitted)
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 piloncillo cones
  • 1/2 cup hibiscus flowers
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 15 tamarind pods
  • 2 gallons water

Directions

    Peel oranges and set aside.

    Cut and core apples.

    Remove the seeds.
  •

    Peel off hard shell of tamarind pod, then devein.

    Place large pot over medium low flame.

    Add all ingredients into pot.

    Place a lid on pot and let it boil/simmer for 3 to 4 hours.

    Serve hot and enjoy!
