Summer weather invites us to enjoy refreshing beverages on the beach or by the pool. If you enjoy preparing beverages, this punch can be a great option for hot days. If you plan to share this recipe with the whole family, serve the punch in individual cups so you can omit alcohol in your kids’ version.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 bottle (25 oz) carbonated water
  • Juice of 5 lemons
  • 1/2 cup honey, agave or sugar
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves or yerba buena
  • Ice, to taste
  • 1 cup white rum, optional
  • 1 lemon for garnish, thinly sliced

Directions

  • 1
    In a blender, blend 2 cups of strawberries with 1 cup of water. Transfer to the pitcher you will use to serve the punch.

    Squeeze lemons, add sugar, remainder of water and mix well with a long spoon. Add rest of sliced strawberries, mint and ice. You can also add rum, if desired.

    Garnish with lemon slices and serve. Enjoy!

    You can use tequila or vodka instead of rum.

    Add other fruits such as oranges, cranberries, raspberries or diced pineapple.
