En un tazón chico mezcla todos los ingredientes menos el pavo. Coloca el pavo en un traste de vidrio poco profundo. Vierte la mitad de la mezcla de ciruela sobre el pavo, dándole vuelta a éste para cubrirlo por completo. Cubre el traste; refrigera por 30 minutos, volteándolo una vez. Reserva la mitad restante de la mezcla de ciruela para servir con el pavo.

Calienta la parrilla de gas o de carbón para cocer a fuego indirecto. Saca el pavo de la marinada; reserva la marinada para bañar el pavo durante la cocción.

Pon el pavo en la parrilla para cocimiento indirecto. Cubre la parrilla; cuece a calor medianamente alto de 25 a 30 minutos, volteando el pavo y rociándolo con la marinada restante, hasta que el jugo del pavo salga claro al cortar el centro de la parte más gruesa (170°F). Desecha la marinada sobrante. Calienta la mezcla de ciruela que habías reservado. Sirve con el pavo rebanado.
