These are the first cookies I learned to prepare when I was little. One of my aunts would prepare them whenever I would visit and it became a tradition. My recipe is very simple and that makes them a great way to get the kids involved. With just 4 ingredients, you can prepare these delicious butter cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cup flour

Directions

    Use a fork to soften the butter and add the sugar. Keep mixing with the help of a wooden spoon and add the vanilla and flour little by little. Mix all the ingredients in.

    Place the dough on a clean, floured surface and continue kneading for 3 minutes.

    Stretch the dough out and create a roll. Cut the roll into 2 pieces. Place each piece of dough in plastic bags and refrigerate for 1 hour.

    Cut the dough in to 1 cm pieces. Line a baking dish with wax paper. Place the cookies 1 cm apart on the sheet and bake at 350° F for 15 minutes or until they’ve browned.
