I love chicken wraps! Not only because they help me cut down on calories but also because they are so crunchy and fresh. These chicken wraps in spicy and sweet sauce are perfect for a delicious and quick meal. You can leave the chicken marinating in the morning and cook it when you get home. The sauce has a spicy touch, but it’s not a lot; even my kids loved it. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 10 oz spicy and sweet chile sauce
  • 1/2 cup white dry wine
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped, more to garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 chicken breasts, cleaned and cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup natural peanuts (optional)
  • 8 lettuce leaves, washed

Directions

  • 1
In a bowl, combine chile sauce, wine and basil. Set aside.
  • 2
Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Place the chicken and 3/4 of the sauce in a sealable plastic bag. Shake the bag to cover the chicken in the sauce and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • 3
Heat up a frying pan on medium heat. Cook the chicken in the sauce and peanuts until you can’t see any pink, the sauce has caramelized and the chicken is browned and fully cooked, for about 5 minutes.
  • 4
Serve the chicken in the lettuce leaves with the rest of the sauce. Top with some basil and serve.
