These days the new trend is to prepare natural snacks for eating while watching TV, and one of my favorite recipes to prepare is roasted soy beans, or edamame, which I eat like roasted peanuts. This recipe, which I’ll share with you now, is so simple, and I’m sure your family will love it. Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups edamame or soybeans, frozen
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 lime

Directions

  • 1
Place the frozen edamame on a baking sheet, sprinkle with peanut oil and season with salt.
  • 2
Turn on your oven and cook the beans for 15 minutes at medium heat. Use a spatula to move the edamame around on the pan to ensure even browning.
  • 3
Once they’ve browned, remove them from the oven and place them in another container or dish. Sprinkle the beans with chili powder and add a few drops of lime.
  • 4
Let cool, and enjoy them as a snack while watching TV.

Expert Tips

  • tip 1
If you can’t find edamame, simply use canned garbanzo beans.
