Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 packages (3 oz each) cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh or 2 teaspoons freeze-dried chives

Directions

    In 10-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic; cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Reduce heat. Stir in cream cheese and milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and hot. Stir in chives.

    Place in serving bowl. If desired, garnish with chopped fresh chives. Serve with chips or crackers.
