Give your breakfast a twist with this savory oatmeal and Cheerios™ with eggs. You can also prepare them as breakfast-dinner or you can have them if you don’t feel like cooking dinner or if you just want to have a light dinner. If you prepare them as a breakfast-dinner for the whole family, you can also add pieces of bacon or ham. It’s easy to make and you’ll get instant results.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal, quick cooking
  • 1 large egg
  • Vegetable cooking spray
  • 2 tablespoons original Cheerios™ cereal
  • 1 teaspoon cheddar cheese

Directions

    In a small pot, prepare the savory oatmeal with water and salt. Mix and cook for 5 minutes over low heat.

    In the meantime, warm up a small pan sprayed with some vegetable cooking spray. Add the egg and cook until the egg white is firm and the yolk is soft.

    Serve the savory oatmeal in a cereal bowl, add Cheerios™, cheese and cover with the egg. Season to taste with salt and pepper or with spicy sauce.

    Substitute with grits instead of the savory oatmeal, and it will take just a few minutes in the microwave. You can also use your favorite cheese instead of cheddar cheese.
